Harvey’s Lake Radon problem, Harvey’s Lake, PA, 2006 - This project consisted of sampling a home for Radon and then proposing reduction of these levels to a target concentration below tolerance levels (4pCi/l). A calibrated continuous radon meter (photo-ionization meter -PID) determined radon levels at 14pCi/l. A remediation packet with cost and specifications was presented to the client for review. Client signed the contract to implement sub-slab depressurization. Three entry points were drilled into the concrete slab. Four-inch PVC schedule 40 pipe connected the three holes in series to an exhaust fan that was piped to 2 feet about the roof. Confirmation testing validated the success of the remediation at a level of 0.4 pCi/l, which were below ambient background levels.
Baker Bank Volumetric, Scranton, PA, 2006 - This project required calculation of stockpiled unconsolidated material for mineral rights reimbursement. We used AutoCAD 2005, Raster Image 2004, aerial photography, topographic raster images, remote GPS equipment and hand-held transits to collect data and make remote calculations without trespassing on land-owners property. The client was part owner of the minerals and was gaining knowledge of the volume that is presently on-site. Client contacted POZ through research and qualifications to complete the job. A letter of appreciation was returned with payment.
American Hotel, Carbondale, PA, 2008 - Prepared a Brief for Peach Tree Development for a submittal packet to City Counsel. Wetlands Mitigation, Lackawanna Co., PA, 2008 to present- This project requires the oversight and permit submittals for the creation and enhancement of wetlands on farmlands and the subsequent backfilling of wetlands for the expansion of a manufacturing plant. Work involved taking and analysis of composite samples, troubleshooting vegitative growth, using AutoCAD to fulfill the requirements of the permit and sealing the documents in an As-Built and periodic report for DEP. Volumetric calculations for the backfill site required AutoCAD 3D design and a site survey. This project involves three phases and will be on-going for 5 years.
Poplar Retaining Wall, Wilkes-Barre, PA, 2008 - This project required the preparation of technical specifications, design, and cost estimates for the demolition and construction of a 150-foot retaining wall 11 feet in height. The work was done for T. Brennan Equipment and Excavation Co., Carbondale, PA.
Rt.209 & CR 513, Chester, Morris Co., NJ, 2009 - Prepared and submitted Site Health & Safety Plan, Materials Handling Plan (sampling plan included), and Pollution Prevention and Control Plan for the removal of regulated waste as part of a NJDOT road expansion project.
